I'd like to start swishing but there is nothing that catches my eye that is in my size at the moment, how long will it be until you have more items?  Swishing is different to shopping. To swish items you begin by listing your items and this will attract others with a similar size and/or taste to load theirs and so the swishing opportunities begin...

iSwish Membership

What type of memberships are there? There is a standard membership and a gold membership.

What is a standard iSwish membership? This membership is automatic when you register and is free, enabling you to swap item for item at no charge, list an item for free and there are no end of transaction fees. This does not however enable you to buy credits or swap for credits. For a period of time, you will receiv e a complimentary credit each time you complete a successful item for item swap (max 5 per user) and these become accessible when you upgrade to a gold membership.

What is a iSwish gold membership? This offers you a number of value added features to the standard membership. One main benefit is the ability to use credits instead of or in addition to items to swap with. Perfect where there is only one party interested in the swap. You can also buy credits if you do not want to wait, by using the iSwish top up function where 1 credit = $1 NZ. Gold membership costs $35 and is valid for one year. Alternatively you can trial it by paying $25 for 6 months.  You can upgrade to gold membership at anytime. For a period of time, gold members will also receive a complimentary credit for each successfully completed item for item swap (max 5 per user).

I tried to by buy a Gold Membership but my credit card details were not accepted,it said my credit card details were incorrect?  Please note that the credit card number should be entered without any spaces (even though there are spaces on your credit card).

Credits

What are credits?  Credits are the virtual currency in iSwish. As well as swishing items for items you can offer to swish credits for items. Credits are accumulated and can be used to acquire any items from any iSwish member.

How can I gain credits?  There are several ways to accumulate your credits.

  • As a gold member, you can buy credits through top up
  • Other members can swap with you with credits rather than items. All gained credits are added to your credit balance
  • From time to time, you may earn credits through our promotions
  • For a period of time, iSwish rewards every successfully completed item for item swap with 1 credit (max 5 per user)

Can I earn credits even though I am not a gold member?   Yes, you can earn and accumulate credits without being a gold member, however, to use them to swish with, you need to be a Gold Member. They will remain in your credit balance until such time.

How do I activate my credits?  Your credits become activated when you upgrade to gold membership.

Add an Item

How many items can I list?  As many as you like! contact us if you are listing hundreds of items as we may be able to help.

How do I add an item?  Click on add an item and enter all the relevant information about this item. Also upload photos from different angles to illustrate the item and enter a credit value of your item. For more information about how to make the most out of your items go to hints & tips

How do I decide what credit value to use for my item?  It is subjective! As a guide, an item should be same as the $NZ value you feel this item is worth second hand today. Example: a pair of shoes you think is worth $20 NZ second hand should be valued at 20 credits. You may brows e other items on our site to help decide the value of various items. Feel free to adjust the credit value assigned should you feel it is too low or high as long as it is before a transaction is agreed. The credit value to a certain extent depends on how much of personal value it is to you.

Does my item have to be of a certain quality?  We encourage good quality / new / nearly new or lightly used items that are still in great condition that you would be proud to pass on.

Why did the item photos not upload?  The maximum file size for a photo is 2mb and the file type required is .jpg or .jpeg. In addition, it is important to note that iSwish cannot run without javascripts. You can enable javascript by following the instructions here. Alternatively use can upload images using firefox or safari.  Please contact us should you have any problems.

What do I do if my item fits under more than one category?  We recommend that you add the item multiple times in all the relevant categories. However, please ensure that you remove the listing from all categories once one transaction is completed.

Manage Your Items

How do I change or remove an item?  Go to "All listings” in my wardrobe and click on “edit listing” or “remove” under the item you need to change or remove.

This will give other members an indication of the trustworthiness of a swisher. You may also write a comment about the experience about why it was positive or negative.

When does Swishy smile?  80% positive feedback makes “Swishy” smile.

How can I make Swishy smile again?  By keeping swishing items and earning good feedback you will soon get your rating back to over 80% and Swishy will smile again.

How do I know if the member is a trustworthy?  To make Swishy smile you need to have more than 80% success records. This provides members an easy and instant way of recognizing whom the best swishers are! We recommend that you review and read the feedback placed on each user prior to accepting a swap. You find the user feedback in each user’s Member wardrobe.

How do I deal with unfair feedback?  When unfair feedback has been placed, we recommend that you contact the member who placed the feedback explaining why you think it was unfair and ask them to change it. In case of a misunderstanding, feedback can be edited by the user who placed it.

Member Profile

How should I measure myself for my profile? In order to measure yourself correctly, you can use the following as a guide:

Women

  • Waist - Wrap around your waist starting from your belly button.
  • Inner leg - Measure from the crotch to the lower part of the ankle bone along the inside of the leg.
  • Bra back size - The strap should sit firmly around your body and be horizontal at the back. You should be able to run two fingers under the band. The wires should sit flat to the body.
  • Bra cup size - Whatever the style of bra, your boobs should be fully enclosed inside the cup without any bulge over top or side of the cups.

Men

  • Waist - Wrap around your waist starting from your belly button.
  • Inner leg - Measure from the crotch to the lower part of the ankle bone along the inside of the leg.
  • Collar - Take the tape low in the back of the neck and bring it around the front just below the adams apple to where the collar button will be closed.  At the front, allow two fingers to slip easily between your throat and the tape or add 1" or 2.5cms to the measurement.
  • Chest - To measure the circumference wrap the tape from the fullest part of the chest and under the arms.

Mirror Match

What is a mirror match?  The mirror match feature allows you to identify other members who have similar body dimensions to you. The Mirror Matches are based on a percentage match to your own profile measurements.  Remember to update your profile and include accurate measurements to get the best matches possible.

What are the benefits of identifying mirror matches?  By identifying members with similar body dimensions to yourself, you will be able to search for and swish items that fit your specific body type. Example: size 10 of an item fits various body types very differently. It helps to know if the member you are swishing with also has a big (or small) bust and long (or short) legs in order to know how the item will fit you.

How are mirror matches identified?  The Mirror Matches are based on 60% percentage match to your own profile measurements.

Will my personal dimensions be visible to other members?  No personal body measurements (beside your dress size) will be reveled, this is strictly confidential, and will only be used to calculate the percentage of mirror matches.

I have not entered my measurements details yet, what do I do?  You can enter your personal body measurements to e nable the mirror match search at any time. Go to “My Profile” under “My Stuff” to make any changes to your measurements and general profile.

Why do my measurements not save to my profile when entered on the Mirror Match search page?  Measurement added on the mirror match search page are just temporary, to allow you to search for any items, not just the ones that fit your saved personal measurements. Go to “My Profile” under “My Stuff” to make any permanent changes to your measurements and general profile.

Can I make changes to my measurements?  Yes, go to “My Profile” under “My Stuff” to make any changes to your measurements and general profile.
